[00479] 3,5-Dibromophenol (5.0 g; 19.8 mmol), cyclopentane-methanol (2.0 g; 19.9 mmol) and tributylphosphine (8.8 mL; 35.7 mmol) were dissolved in dry THF (250 mL) in a dried reaction flask under an atmosphere of nitrogen. l,l’-(Azodicarbonyl)dipiperidine (9.01 g; 35.7 mmol) dissolved in dry THF (150 mL) was added to the reaction mixture, which was EPO stirred at room temperature for 16 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered, evaporated to dryness and purified by flash chromatography (heptane – > ethyl acetate: heptane 2:3). Yield: 5.68 g; 86 %.
