The title compound eluted at 5.74 min. Following standard extractive workup with ethyl acetate, the solvent was removed in vacuo to yield the title compound as a white solid (0.180 g, 16%). m.p. 121-124 C.; 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) delta 2.29 (s, 6H), 3.57-3.63 (m, 1H), 3.72-3.79 (m, 1H), 4.07-4.16 (m, 2H), 4.90-4.98 (m, 1H), 5.02 (br, exchangeable with D2O, 1H), 6.54 (s, 2H), 6.64 (s, 1H); IR (KBr) upsilon 3283, 1734, 1600, 1321, 1236 cm-1; MS 222 (M+1).
