Intermediate 4; (2-Flu or o-5-hvdrazinylphenyl)methanol hydrochloride; (5-Amino-2-fluorophenyl)methanol (3.6 g, 25.8 mmol) was dissolved in cone. HCl (39 ml) and cooled to 00C. The organic phase was washed with brine and extracted with a solution of HCl (1 M). The water phase was freeze-dried to give the title compound (1.65 g, 33%). APCI-MS m/z: 157 [MH+].
