As a fundamental type of carbonylation reaction, the alkoxy- and hydroxy-carbonylation of unsaturated hydrocarbons constitutes one of the most important industrial applications of homogeneous catalysis. However, owing to the difficulties in controlling multi-selectivities for asym. hydrocarbonylation of alkenes, this reaction is typically limited to vinylarenes and analogs. In this work, a highly efficient asym. alkoxy- and hydroxy-carbonylation of β-carbonyl functionalized alkenes was developed, providing practical and easy access to various densely functionalized chiral mols. with high optical purity from broadly available alkenes, CO, and nucleophiles (>90 examples, 84-99% ee). This protocol features mild reaction conditions and a broad substrate scope, and the products can be readily transformed into a diverse array of chiral heterocycles. Neurobrucellosis is the most morbid form in brucellosis disease. Metabolomics is an emerging method which intends to explore the global alterations of various metabolites in samples. We aimed to identify metabolites in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) as biomarkers that were potentially unique for neurobrucellosis. CSF samples from 25 neurobrucellosis patients and 25 normal controls (uninfected patients with hydrocephalus) were collected for metabolite detection using liquid chromatog.-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) approach. Inflammatory cytokines in CSF were measured with ELISA (ELISA). The base peak chromatogram in CSF samples showed that small-mol. metabolites were well separated Principal Component Anal. (PCA) anal. exhibited the examined samples were arranged in two main clusters in accordance with their group. Projection to Latent Structures Discriminant Anal. (PLS-DA) revealed there was a noticeable separation between neurobrucellosis and normal groups. Orthogonal Partial Least-Squares-Discriminant Anal. (OPLS-DA) could responsibly illuminate the differences between neurobrucellosis and normal controls. Neurobrucellosis showed a total of 155 differentiated metabolites. Prominent potential biomarkers including 30 metabolites were then selected out, regarded as more capable of distinguishing neurobrucellosis. TNF-α and IL-6 in CSF were remarkably increased in neurobrucellosis. We presented the heatmaps and correlation analyses among the identified 30 potential biomarkers. In conclusion, this study showed that CSF metabolomics based on LC-MS could distinguish neurobrucellosis patients from normal controls. Our data offered perspectives for diagnosis and treatment for neurobrucellosis.

Although synthetic CpG oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs) have shown substantial potential as immunotherapeutic agents, their effective intracellular delivery remains challenging. In this work, nanoparticles prepared from low-mol. weight (LMW) chitosans were investigated as CpG ODN delivery systems. Chitosan samples with a mol. weight (Mw) of 5 and 15 kDa and degree of deacetylation (DDA) of 50 and 80% were prepared Addnl., mannosylated chitosans with a substitution degree of 15% were synthesized. The impact of LMW chitosan Mw and DDA on nanoparticle phys. properties and the associated immunostimulatory effect in RAW 264.7 cells was studied. Nanoparticles prepared with chitosan of higher DDA and larger Mw exhibited better CpG ODN binding ability and intracellular uptake. Nevertheless, the most efficient immunostimulatory effect was observed while using 50% acetylated and mannosylated samples. The decreased charge d. on chitosan backbone resulted in the enhanced intracellular CpG ODN release, which promoted in vitro cytokine secretion. Moreover, mannose ligand grafting promoted nanoparticle uptake through receptor-mediated recognition. Overall, this research suggests that chitosan structural parameters can be modulated to prepare LMW chitosan nanoparticles that first efficiently encapsulate CpG ODN, and then release it in immune cells, thus may be used as an efficient vector for intracellular CpG ODN delivery.

In this paper, based on the dynamic characteristics of industrial 2-keto-L-gulonic acid fermentation, the principal component anal. Only the online measurement data of the current batch, which related to the state of the fermentation process, are needed in the method. In order to obtain the dynamic relationship of the fermentation process, the time delay window is introduced, and the dynamic state of the t moment is represented by the process variables during the period from t-D to t, not just the moment t. The PC Scores of the PCA is used to obtain the curve of Hotelling′s T2 statistical variable. The singular points of the curve contain more information of dynamic behavior, and could be used to detect different fermentation stages. The photophys. behavior of Ir-2 was investigated by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and quantum mech. calculations The absorption spectra of the complex Ir-2 are dominated by the cyclometalated ligand; thus it shows an intense absorption band in the visible region at 460 nm with a molar extinction coefficient (ε) of about 3 × 104 M-1 cm-1, which is rarely found for typical polypyridine iridium(III) complexes. The complex Ir-2 displays efficient phosphorescent emission at 560 nm at room temperature originating from a mixed triplet metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (3MLCT, dπ(Ir) π* (Bthc-bpe)) and triplet intraligand (3ILCT, π-π* (Bthc-bpe)) excited states as suggested by the DFT computational studies. Upon reaction with H2O2, the complex displays an emission decrease induced by an intense intermol. aggregation due to the cleavage of the bulky benzeneboronic acid pinacol ester substituent, indicating that Ir-2 could act as an ON-OFF-type phosphorescent probe for H2O2. Addnl., selectivity studies reveal that the complex Ir-2 possesses high selectivity toward H2O2 over other reactive oxygen species (ROS).

A review. Ettringite (AFt) is a very important hydration product of hardened cement pastes in the early stage. The effect of ethanol-diisopropanolamine (EDIPA) on the formation and transform process of AFt in cement pastes was systematically investigated in this paper. The results indicate that the AFt content in hardened cement pastes notably decreases due to the inhibition effect of EDIPA on the dissolution of gypsum. In addition, EDIPA promotes the transformation of AFt into calcium monosulfoaluminate hydrate and considerably alters the morphol. of AFt crystals from the acicular crystals to stubby rods crystals. The mechanism of the formation of EDIPA-Ca2+ complex by the interaction between Ca2+ in ettringite and the oxygen atoms in EDIPA mol. was proposed. Purpose: The article explored the clin. effect of Hemabate combined with B-Lynch suture in the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine asthenia. Methods: In the paper, 100 cases of postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine contraction and fatigue admitted to the Fuyang District Maternity and Child Health Hospital from March 2014 to March 2016 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into observation group and control group by random number method, with 50 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with Simabate combined with B-Lynch suture, and the control group was treated with traditional hemostasis. The clin. efficacy, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, 24 h postoperative blood loss, postoperative Hb level, hospital stay and postoperative complications were observed in the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.00%, and the control group was 80.00%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05); the operation time of the observation group was (49.98 ± 7.24) min, and the intraoperative blood loss was ( 514.43 ± 29.53) ml, 24 h postoperative blood loss was (125.97 ± 15.26) ml, hospitalization time was (7.92 ± 2.36) days, the control group was (71.41 ± 6.08) min, (720.16 ± 31.27) ml, (230.14 ± 21.91) ml, (10.04 ± 3.71)d, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The Hb level of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Conclusion: The clin. effect of Simabate combined with B-Lynch suture in the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine attenuation was definite and could shorten the operation time, to reduce intraoperative and postpartum hemorrhage, it was a fast, safe and easy way to stop bleeding, with fewer complications.

Objective To evaluate the preventive effect of dexmedetomidine on adverse reactions induced by carboprost tromethamine during cesarean section. Methods The pregnant women preparing for low-segment cesarean section were randomly divided into group D (dexmedetomidine), group O (ondansetron), and group C (control group), 30 women in each group. Cesarean section was completed in all the cases under continual epidural anesthesia, then they were treated by i.v. transfusion of 20 U oxytocin after delivery and deltoideus triangularis injection of 250 μg carboprost tromethamine. The cases in group D were treated by i.v. transfusion of dexmedetomidine (load capacity 1 μg/kg, the duration time of i.v. transfusion was less than 10 min, the infusion speed was 0.4 μg·kg-1·h-1) before 10 min of carboprost tromethamine treatment. The cases in group C were treated by i.v. injection of ondansetron after delivery. The cases in group C were treated by normal saline at equal quantity. Mean arterial blood pressure (MAP), heart rate, and SpO2 at 5 min after entering operation room (baseline, T0), 5 min after injection of carboprost tromethamine (T1), and the end of surgery (T2) were recorded. The incidence rates of nausea, vomiting, chest distress, and flushed face from usage of carboprost tromethamine to end of surgery were calculated Modified OAA/S scoring was conducted at T2 and after 2 h of surgery (T3). Results Compared with group D, MAP at T2 and T3 in group C and group O increased significantly, heart rates at T2 and T3 in group C and group O fastened significantly, SpO2 at T2 and T3 in group C and group O decreased significantly, there were statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Compared with group C, the incidence rates of chest distress, flushed face, nausea, and vomiting in group D decreased significantly, the incidence rates of nausea and vomiting in group O decreased significantly, there were statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Compared with group C, OAA/S score in group D increased significantly (P<0.05). Conclusion I.v. transfusion of dexmedetomidine before carboprost tromethamine during cesarean section can prevent gastrointestinal and cardiovascular reactions caused by carboprost, the effect is superior to ondansetron.

Among them, 58 children were treated with N-acetylcysteine and comprised the exptl. group, and 62 children were treated with ambroxol hydrochloride and comprised the control group. Children’s phys. signs (such as fever, short breath, cough and pulmonary rales) and the adverse reactions to treatment were observed, and the disappearance time of the signs was recorded. In addition, the cellular immune function indicators and the quality of life after treatment were investigated. There was no significant difference in clin. data between the two groups (P>0.05). The effective rate in the exptl. group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The disappearance time of symptoms, such as fever, cough, asthma and rales in the lung, was significantly shorter in the exptl. group than that in the control group (P<0.05). The hospitalization time of patients in the exptl. group was shorter than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, IgA (IgA), IgG (IgG), IgM (IgM) and complement C3 were significantly increased in the exptl. group (P<0.01), and the IgA and IgG in the exptl. group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). The incidence of adverse reactions in the exptl. group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). In conclusion, N-acetylcysteine has a significant effect on the treatment of bronchopneumonia in children providing a quick relief from symptoms, such as lung rales, and therefore is worthy of use in clinic.
