Bahramrezaie, Mojdeh; Amidi, Fardin; Aleyasin, Ashraf; Saremi, AboTaleb; Aghahoseini, Marzieh; Brenjian, Samaneh; Khodarahmian, Mahshad; Pooladi, Arash published the artcile< Effects of resveratrol on VEGF & HIF1 genes expression in granulosa cells in the angiogenesis pathway and laboratory parameters of polycystic ovary syndrome: a triple-blind randomized clinical trial.>, SDS of cas: 501-36-0, the main research area is HIF1 gene; Hormones; Intracytoplasmic sperm injection; Polycystic ovary syndrome; Resveratrol; VEGF gene.

OBJECTIVES: Management options for PCOS, as the most prevalent endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age, using natural supplements have a high priority for physicians, especially based on the etiological pathways. Therefore, this study was conducted to describe the effect of resveratrol on the angiogenesis pathway, for management of PCOS through assessing VEGF, HIF1 gene expression, and laboratory parameters. METHODS: In this triple-blind RCT, PCOS was confirmed in ICSI candidates based on the Rotterdam criteria. Sixty-two patients that met the inclusion criteria were randomly assigned to two groups. All patients took resveratrol 800 mg/day or placebo for 40 days orally from the beginning of their previous menstruation cycle until the oocyte retrieval day. The serum levels of different hormones were measured, and the expression of HIF1 & VEGF genes was quantified by real-time PCR. RESULTS: As for the laboratory hormone assay in 61 PCOS patients, a significant mean difference was seen in the FSH, LH, TSH, and testosterone between the two groups (P < 0.05). The results showed a reduction in the expression of VEGF & HIF1 genes under the effect of resveratrol in the granulosa cells (P = 0.0001). The number of mature oocytes, cleavage rate, fertilization rate, and fertility rate were not significantly different between the two groups (P > 0.05), but the high-quality oocyte rate and high-quality embryo rate were higher in the resveratrol group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Based on the results, resveratrol may improve some outcomes of PCOS patients, probably through changing the serum levels of some sex hormones and expression of VEGF & HIF1 genes in the angiogenesis pathway of granulosa cells. Deeprose, Mark J.; Lowe, Martin; Noble, Adam; Booker-Milburn, Kevin I.; Aggarwal, Varinder K. published the artcile< Sequential Photocatalytic Reactions for the Diastereoselective Synthesis of Cyclobutane Scaffolds>, HPLC of Formula: 627-27-0, the main research area is cyclobutane preparation regioselective diastereoselective photochem; chlorocyclobutane alkene dechlorinative functionalization photoredox catalyst; chloromaleimide alkyne photocycloaddition hydrogenation.

The synthesis of densely functionalized cyclobutanes containing all-carbon quaternary stereocenters in high regio- and diastereoselectivity remains synthetically challenging. Herein, author show that this can be achieved by using a sequential photocatalysis strategy, wherein 3-chloromaleimides undergo triplet sensitized [2 + 2] photocycloadditions with alkynes or alkenes followed by photoredox-catalyzed dechlorinative C-C bond forming reactions to install quaternary stereocenters. This allows the rapid assembly of structurally complex and sterically congested 3-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane scaffolds from readily available starting materials.

Membranes (Basel, Switzerland) published new progress about Bacteria (colonies). 492-62-6 belongs to class alcohols-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C6H12O6, Reference of 492-62-6.

Lu, Yuqin; Jia, Jia; Miao, Hengfeng; Ruan, Wenquan; Wang, Xinhua published the artcile< Performance improvement and biofouling mitigation in osmotic microbial fuel cells via in situ formation of silver nanoparticles on forward osmosis membrane>, Reference of 492-62-6, the main research area is silver nanoparticle biofouling mitigation forward osmosis membrane; forward osmosis; membrane fouling; osmotic microbial fuel cell; silver nanoparticle.

An osmotic microbial fuel cell (OsMFC) using a forward osmosis (FO) membrane to replace the proton exchange membrane in a typical MFC achieves superior electricity production and better effluent water quality during municipal wastewater treatment. However, inevitable FO membrane fouling, especially biofouling, has a significantly adverse impact on water flux and thus hinders the stable operation of the OsMFC. Here, we proposed a method for biofouling mitigation of the FO membrane and further improvement in current generation of the OsMFC by applying a silver nanoparticle (AgNP) modified FO membrane. The characteristic tests revealed that the AgNP modified thin film composite (TFC) polyamide FO membrane showed advanced hydrophilicity, more neg. zeta potential and better antibacterial property. The biofouling of the FO membrane in OsMFC was effectively alleviated by using the AgNP modified membrane. This phenomenon could be attributed to the changes of TFC-FO membrane properties and the antibacterial property of AgNPs on the membrane surface. An increased hydrophilicity and a more neg. zeta potential of the modified membrane enhanced the repulsion between foulants and membrane surface. In addition, AgNPs directly disturbed the functions of microorganisms deposited on the membrane surface. Owing to the biofouling mitigation of the AgNP modified membrane, the water flux and electricity generation of OsMFC were correspondingly improved.

Chem. modification of pseudo-dimannoside ligands guided by fragment-based design allowed for the exploitation of an ammonium-binding region in the vicinity of the mannose-binding site of DC-SIGN, leading to the synthesis of a glycomimetic antagonist, I, of unprecedented affinity and selectivity against the related lectin langerin. Here, the computational design of pseudo-dimannoside derivatives as DC-SIGN ligands, their synthesis, their evaluation as DC-SIGN selective antagonists, the biophys. characterization of the DC-SIGN/I complex, and the structural basis for the ligand activity are presented. On the way to the characterization of this ligand, an unusual bridging interaction within the crystals shed light on the plasticity and potential secondary binding sites within the DC-SIGN carbohydrate recognition domain.

Zhou, Ying’s team published research in Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry in 2020-09-16 | 78-70-6

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry published new progress about Arabidopsis. 78-70-6 belongs to class alcohols-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C10H18O, COA of Formula: C10H18O.

Zhou, Ying; Deng, Rufang; Xu, Xinlan; Yang, Ziyin published the artcile< Enzyme Catalytic Efficiencies and Relative Gene Expression Levels of (R)-Linalool Synthase and (S)-Linalool Synthase Determine the Proportion of Linalool Enantiomers in Camellia sinensis var. sinensis>, COA of Formula: C10H18O, the main research area is linalool synthase Camellia enzyme kinetic stress; Camellia sinensis; aroma; chirality; enzyme kinetics; linalool; stresses; tea; volatile.

Linalool is abundant in tea leaves and contributes greatly to tea aroma. The two isomers of linalool, (R)-linalool and (S)-linalool, exist in tea leaves. Our study found that (R)-linalool was the minor isomer in nine of Camellia sinensis var. sinensis cultivars. The (R)-linalool synthase of tea plant CsRLIS was identified subsequently. It is a chloroplast-located protein and specifically catalyzes the formation of (R)-linalool in vitro and in vivo. CsRLIS was observed to be a stress-responsive gene and caused the accumulation of internal (R)-linalool during oolong tea manufacture, mech. wounding, and insect attack. Further study demonstrated that the catalytic efficiency of CsRLIS was much lower than that of (S)-linalool synthase CsSLIS, which might explain the lower (R)-linalool proportion in C. sinensis var. sinensis cultivars. The relative expression levels of CsRLIS and CsSLIS may also affect the (R)-linalool proportions among C. sinensis var. sinensis cultivars. This information will help us understand differential distributions of chiral aroma compounds in tea.

Food Chemistry published new progress about Allium cepa. 1492-18-8 belongs to class alcohols-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C20H21CaN7O7, Recommanded Product: Calcium folinate.

Loznjak, Petra; Striegel, Lisa; Diaz De la Garza, Rocio I.; Rychlik, Michael; Jakobsen, Jette published the artcile< Quantification of folate in food using deconjugase of plant origin combined with LC-MS/MS: A method comparison of a large and diverse sample set>, Recommanded Product: Calcium folinate, the main research area is folate food plant glutamyl hydrolase LC MS; 10-Formylfolic acid (PubChem CID: 3080544); 5,10-Methenyltetrahydrofolate (PubChem CID: 439237); 5-Formyltetrahydrofolate (PubChem CID: 149436); 5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (PubChem CID: 439234); Deconjugase enzymes; Folates; Folic acid (PubChem CID: 6037); Food; LC-MS/MS; Method comparison; Microbiological assay; Tetrahydrofolate (PubChem CID: 1129).

A round robin comparison was performed in order to test the performance of a recently developed LC-MS/MS method for quantification of 6 folate forms. Eighty-nine samples representing the food groups of fruits, vegetables, legumes, cereals, dairy products, meat, and offal were analyzed by two LC-MS/MS methods and a microbiol. assay (MA). A plant-origin deconjugase enzyme (Arabidopsis thaliana) for deconjugation of folates (PE-LC-MS/MS), or animal-origin deconjugase (rat serum and chicken pancreas) (AE-LC-MS/MS) was used in the LC-MS/MS methods, each in a single enzymic step. In contrast, the MA involved tri-enzyme extraction including human plasma as a deconjugase. A significant bias of 17% lower and 25% higher results was found when PE-LC-MS/MS was compared to MA and AE-LC-MS/MS, resp. The PE-LC-MS/MS provides fast quantification of various folate vitamers and total folate content, which could be a proper substitute to the currently standardized but imprecise and time-consuming microbiol. assay in the future.

Blaszczyk, Stephanie A.; Xiao, Guozhi; Wen, Peng; Hao, Hua; Wu, Jessica; Wang, Bo; Carattino, Francisco; Li, Ziyuan; Glazier, Daniel A.; McCarty, Bethany J.; Liu, Peng; Tang, Weiping published the artcile< S-Adamantyl Group Directed Site-Selective Acylation: Applications in Streamlined Assembly of Oligosaccharides>, Formula: C12H20O6, the main research area is regioselective acylation glycosylation glycoside; transition state steric DFT thioglycoside oligosaccharide thioglycosylation adamantane; acylation; carbohydrates; glycosylation; noncovalent interactions; synthetic methods.

The site-selective functionalization of carbohydrates is an active area of research. Reported here is the surprising observation that the sterically encumbered adamantyl group directed site-selective acylation at the C2 position of S-glycosides through dispersion interactions between the adamantyl C-H bonds and the π system of the cationic acylated catalyst, which may have broad implications in many other chem. reactions. Because of their stability, chem. orthogonality, and ease of activation for glycosylation, the site-selective acylation of S-glycosides streamlines oligosaccharide synthesis and will have wide applications in complex carbohydrate synthesis.

Zhang, Yu-Ting’s team published research in Water Research in 2022-08-01 | 492-62-6

Water Research published new progress about Anaerobic fermentation. 492-62-6 belongs to class alcohols-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C6H12O6, COA of Formula: C6H12O6.

Zhang, Yu-Ting; Wei, Wei; Wang, Chen; Ni, Bing-Jie published the artcile< Microbial and physicochemical responses of anaerobic hydrogen-producing granular sludge to polyethylene micro(nano)plastics>, COA of Formula: C6H12O6, the main research area is polyethylene microplastic anaerobic hydrogen producing granular sludge physicochem response; Anaerobic granular sludge; Extracellular polymeric substances; Hydrogen production; Nanoplastics; Polyethylene microplastics; Toxicity mechanism.

Micro(nano)plastics is an emerging contaminant in wastewater that has showed significant impacts on various biol. wastewater processes. Nevertheless, the underlying effects of micro(nano)plastics with different concentrations and sizes on the anaerobic hydrogen-producing granular sludge (HPG) were still unclear. This work firstly attempted to illustrate the microbial and physicochem. responses of HPG to a shock load of polyethylene microplastics (PE-MPs) with varied concentrations and sizes. The results revealed that the PE-MPs inhibitory effect on hydrogen production by HPG was both concentration- and size-dependent. Specifically, the increase of PE-MPs concentration and the decline of PE-MPs size to nano-sized plastics (NPs) significantly decreased the hydrogen yield, downgraded to 79.9 ± 2.6% and 63.0 ± 3.9% (p = 0.001, and 0.0002) of control, resp., at higher MPs concentration and the smaller MPs size (i.e., NPs). The higher PE-MPs concentration and PE-NPs also suppressed extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) generation more severely. The critical bio-processes involved in hydrogen production were disturbed by PE-MPs, with the extent of neg. impacts depending on the dosage and size of PE-MPs. These adverse impacts further manifested as granule disintegration and loss of cellular activity. Mechanism anal. highlighted the roles of oxidative stress, leachate released from PE-MPs, interaction between PE-NPs and granules inducing phys. crushing of HPG that led to possible direct contact between cells and toxic substances.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of the inferior mesenteric artery (IMA) lymph node metastasis [IMALN (+)] on prognosis in left-sided colorectal cancer (LCRC). A total of 285 patients with stage III LCRC and 118 patients with stage IV LCRC who underwent resection of primary tumor between 2005 and 2016 were included. IMALN (+) patients (n = 10) had worse overall survival (OS) than patients without IMA lymph node metastasis [IMALN (-); n = 275] in stage III LCRC (p = 0.007). Multivariate anal. revealed that IMALN (+) was a prognostic factor in stage III LCRC (OS, HR = 3.09, p = 0.043). Conversely, there was no difference between the OS of IMALN (+) and stage IV LCRC with distant lymph node metastasis only [stage IV LCRC (LYM); n = 21; p = 0.434]. The prognosis of IMALN (+) was worse than that of IMALN (-); it was similar to that of stage IV LCRC (LYM).
