Yu, Shuling;Ren, Jing;Lv, Zhenxia;Li, Rui;Zhong, Yuyan;Yao, Wu;Yuan, Jintao research published 《 Prediction of the endocrine-disrupting ability of 49 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances: In silico and epidemiological evidence》, the research content is summarized as follows. The toxic effects of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) on humans are mediated by nuclear hormone receptors (NHRs). However, data on the interaction of PFASs and NHRs is limited. Endocrine Disruptome, an inverse docking tool, was used in this study to simulate the docking of 49 common PFASs with 14 different types of human NHRs. According to the findings, 25 PFASs have a high or moderately high probability of binding to more than five NHRs, with androgen receptor (AR) and mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) being the most likely target NHRs. Mol. docking analyses revealed that the binding modes of PFASs with the two NHRs were similar to those of their corresponding co-crystallized ligands. PFASs, in particular, may disrupt the endocrine system by binding to MR. This finding is consistent with epidemiol. research that has linked PFASs to MR-related diseases. Our findings may contribute to a better understanding of the health risks posed by PFASs.

72824-04-5, Allylboronic acid pinacol ester is a useful research compound. Its molecular formula is C9H17BO2 and its molecular weight is 168.04 g/mol. The purity is usually 95%.
Allylboronic acid pinacol ester is an allylation reagent that is used to produce aldehydes from ketones. It reacts with water, yielding the desired product and formaldehyde as a byproduct. The reaction proceeds through a sequence of steps, in which the boronate ester first reacts with water to form an allylboronate ion and hydrogen gas. This intermediate then reacts with potassium t-butoxide to produce the desired allyl alcohol and potassium borohydride. Finally, the palladium complex catalyst reduces the carbonyl group of the starting material, converting it into an aldehyde. Yu, Liyang;Zhang, Meiling;Tang, Jie;Li, Ruipeng;Xu, Xiaopeng;Peng, Qiang research published 《 Wide Bandgap Perylene Diimide Derivatives as an Effective Third Component for Parallel Connected Ternary Blend Polymer Solar Cells》, the research content is summarized as follows. Constructing a ternary blend active layer for polymer solar cells (PSCs) is a widely explored approach to achieve a high power conversion efficiency (PCE). To achieve this, multiple approaches have been explored for dual-acceptor PSCs including acceptor alloy and acceptor cascade. Parallel connection is another working mechanism of ternary blends with the advantage of large freedom in the selection of materials with largely different absorption ranges. Here, we purposely designed two propeller-like perylene diimide (PDI) derivatives, TT-PDI and TZ-PDI, with different central cores and selected one as the third component to be added into a PM6:Y6 blend. The highest PCE of 17.52% was obtained with 10% of Y6 replaced by TZ-PDI in the ternary blend. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a PDI derivative to be added into a PM6:Y6 blend with significantly increased device performance. The improved PCE was ascribed to the high photon absorption due to the wide bandgap and amorphous structure of TZ-PDI, which paved a functional parallel charge generation route without interfering with the nanostructure of the PM6:Y6 blend. This work demonstrated the parallel connected ternary blend as a viable route to construct efficient PSCs and a chem. designing strategy for a suitable third component in ternary blends.

Yu, Binhai;Huang, Zijian;Fang, Dong;Yu, Shudong;Fu, Ting;Tang, Yong;Li, Zongtao research published 《 Biomimetic Porous Fluoropolymer Films with Brilliant Whiteness by Using Polymerization-Induced Phase Separation》, the research content is summarized as follows. Inspired by the Cyphochilus scale with extreme whiteness, fluoropolymer is used as the matrix to prepare highly scattering porous polymer films through polymerization-induced phase separation (PIPS) method. The mixture used for the PIPS technique contains a fluoride monomer, a UV photoinitiator, and porogens (cyclohexanol and perfluorooctanol). By carefully tuning the mixture parameters (cyclohexanol-perfluorooctanol and monomer-porogen weight ratios), the porous morphol. can be well tailored, which induces different scattering performances. With an optimized formulation (50 wt% monomer, 25 wt% cyclohexanol, and 25 wt% perfluorooctanol), the porous film with a thickness of 55μm can achieve an average total reflectance of ~90%, featuring a measured transport mean free path of 1.3-1.7μm (comparable to the 1.5μm of the benchmark Cyphochilus scale). Further, the porous films are applied to the light-emitting diode (LED) device and it is demonstrated that they can effectively improve the light extraction efficiency of the LED and thus enhance the luminous performance. Due to the simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and scalability of the PIPS method, the as-developed porous fluoropolymer films with such excellent scattering ability can find many potential applications not only in the field of optoelectronics, but also in various complex scenarios, such as daytime passive radiative cooling.

Yin, Yue;Qiu, Yan-Wei;Huang, Juan;Tobe, Stephen S.;Chen, Shan-Shan;Kai, Zhen-Peng research published 《 Enzymes in the juvenile hormone biosynthetic pathway can be potential targets for pest control》, the research content is summarized as follows. A review. BACKGROUND : Discovery of novel insecticides and targets has received global attention in recent years. Ten genes coding for enzymes involved in the juvenile hormone biosynthetic pathway of Manduca sexta were studied as potential insecticide targets. RESULTS : We determined the expression of genes encoding some critical enzymes in the JH biosynthetic pathway. Farnesol dehydrogenase (FOLD), Juvenile hormone acid O-methyltransferase (JHAMT) and Juvenile hormone epoxidase (CYP15C1) were selected as the candidate targets based on gene expression results. RNAi silencing and enzyme inhibitor tests were performed to validate whether these candidate genes could be the potential insecticide targets. The down-regulation of FOLD, JHAMT and CYP15C1 resulted in a 68%, 82% and 79% reduction in the rates of JH biosynthesis in vitro, resp. In addition, RNA interference and inhibitor studies of these enzymes following oral administration demonstrated the potential application in pest management, with respect to high mortality and effects on growth. CONCLUSION : Based on our study, FOLD, JHAMT and CYP15C1 could be potential targets for pest control as a consequence of their important roles in insect development. © 2019 Society of Chem. Ye, Qianqian;Han, Yufei;Liu, Tao;Bai, Yue;Chen, Yingjian;Li, Jianzhang;Shi, Sheldon Q. research published 《 Magnesium oxychloride cement reinforced via D-gluconic acid sodium salt for slow-curing, with enhanced compressive strength and water resistance》, the research content is summarized as follows. Magnesium oxychloride cement (MOC) has the advantages of low-carbon emission, reducing the magnesium chloride waste, and lack of humid curing. However, the MOC has not been widely utilized yet due to the poor water resistance and the short setting time at high ambient temperatures Herein, a simple and low-cost approach was developed through incorporating D-gluconic acid sodium salt into the MOC. After adding 1.4 wt% D-gluconic acid sodium salt, the initial and final setting time were extended to 257 min and 421 min, resp., compared to that of unmodified MOC (92 min and 192 min). Based on the XPS anal., the rod-like phase 5 (5 Mg(OH)2·MgCl2·8H2O) in the MOC was converted into the gel-like phase 5 through the chelation between D-gluconic acid sodium salt and phase 5. The gel-like structures were evidently observed in the MOC pores (especially after immersing in water), and they efficiently hinder the moisture penetrating into internal structure of the MOC. Subsequently, the softening coefficient was enhanced from 0.38 to 0.91 when the D-gluconic acid sodium salt content was increased from 0% to 1.4%. In comparison to the unmodified MOC, 0.6 wt% of D-gluconic acid sodium salt could enhance the compressive strength by 24.6% after curing for 7 days. When the D-gluconic acid sodium salt content increased to over 0.6%, the compressive strength decreased. Meanwhile, the anal. of phase components proved that the phase 5 content of the modified MOC specimens remained unchanged or even increased after immersing into the water, establishing protection of the gel-like structure on the phase 5.

This intermediate then reacts with potassium t-butoxide to produce the desired allyl alcohol and potassium borohydride. Finally, the palladium complex catalyst reduces the carbonyl group of the starting material, converting it into an aldehyde. Allylboronic acid pinacol ester is commercially available as a white solid, but can also be synthesized from 2-chloro-5-pinacolylborane (pinacol) in high yield using catalytic cross coupling reactions., 72824-04-5.

Aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDHs) metabolize reactive aldehydes and possess important physiol. and toxicol. functions in areas such as CNS, metabolic disorders, and cancers. Increased ALDH (e.g., ALDH1A1) gene expression and catalytic activity are vital biomarkers in a number of malignancies and cancer stem cells, highlighting the need for the identification and development of small mol. ALDH inhibitors. A new series of theophylline-based analogs as potent ALDH1A1 inhibitors is described. The optimization of hits identified from a quant. high throughput screening (qHTS) campaign led to analogs with improved potency and early ADME properties. This chemotype exhibits highly selective inhibition against ALDH1A1 over ALDH3A1, ALDH1B1, and ALDH2 isoenzymes as well as other dehydrogenases such as HPGD and HSD17β4. Moreover, the pharmacokinetic evaluation of selected analog (NCT-501) is also highlighted.
