On June 30, 2022, Son, Jong Yeog; Song, Hyunwook published an article.Application In Synthesis of 1-Decanethiol The title of the article was Investigation of intrinsic charge transport via alkyl thiol molecular electronic junctions with conductive probe atomic force microscopy. And the article contained the following:

Herein, we demonstrate characterization of intrinsic charge transport behavior of alkyl thiol mol. electronic junctions using a conductive probe at. force microscopy (CP-AFM). The stable contact between the component mols. and metallic electrodes were established by locating a conductive probe in a static position onto alkyl thiol monolayers, deposited on metal substrates. Then, we performed a combination of various measurement techniques so as to probe the intrinsic charge transport in the mol. junctions, which included temperature-, length-, and force-dependent current-voltage characterizations. Our findings can self-consistently fulfil a criterion in mol. electronics to accomplish a valid junction formation with CP-AFM. The Article related to oligophenylene alkane thiol current rectification mol tunnel junction, Electric Phenomena: Dielectric and Electret Properties (Including Electric Moments, and Polarizability) and other aspects.HPLC of Formula: 143-10-2

Xie, Zuoti; Baldea, Ioan; Nguyen, Quyen Van; Frisbie, C. Daniel published an article in 2021, the title of the article was Quantitative analysis of weak current rectification in molecular tunnel junctions subject to mechanical deformation reveals two different rectification mechanisms for oligophenylene thiols versus alkane thiols.HPLC of Formula: 143-10-2 And the article contains the following content:

Metal-mol.-metal junctions based on alkane thiol (CnT) and oligophenylene thiol (OPTn) self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) and Au electrodes are expected to exhibit similar elec. asymmetry, as both junctions have one chemisorbed Au-S contact and one physisorbed, van der Waals contact. Asymmetry is quantified by the current rectification ratio RR apparent in the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics. Here we show that RR < 1 for CnT and RR > 1 for OPTn junctions, in contrast to expectation, and further, that RR behaves very differently for CnT and OPTn junctions under mech. extension using the conducting probe at. force microscopy (CP-AFM) testbed. The anal. presented in this paper, which leverages results from the previously validated single level model and ab initio quantum chem. calculations, allows us to explain the puzzling exptl. findings for CnT and OPTn in terms of different current rectification mechanisms. Specifically, in CnT-based junctions the Stark effect creates the HOMO level shifting necessary for rectification, while for OPTn junctions the level shift arises from position-dependent coupling of the HOMO wavefunction with the junction electrostatic potential profile. On the basis of these mechanisms, our quantum chem. calculations allow quant. description of the impact of mech. deformation on the measured current rectification. Addnl., our anal., matched to experiment, facilitates direct estimation of the impact of intramol. electrostatic screening on the junction potential profile. Overall, our examination of current rectification in benchmark mol. tunnel junctions illuminates key phys. mechanisms at play in single step tunneling through mols., and demonstrates the quant. agreement that can be obtained between experiment and theory in these systems.
