The reaction of [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 with in situ prepared Ag-N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes yields a series of [RuCl2(p-cymene)(NHC)] complexes (2). All of the complexes have been characterised by elemental analysis, and 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopies. These complexes have been tested for the N-alkylation of aromatic amines with arylmethyl alcohols under neat conditions in the presence of KOtBu at 120 ?C. Direct conversion of carboxylic acids to ureas, carbamates, and thiocarbamates in a single pot via Curtius rearrangement is accomplished. One recently established coupling reagent, Ethyl-2-cyano-2-(2-nitrophenylsulfonyloximino)acetate (ortho-NosylOXY, I), is successfully used for the racemization free synthesis of ureas, di-peptidyl ureas, and carbamates with moderate to good yield (82-69%). This single-pot hassle-free procedure works with a diverse range of N-protecting groups Fmoc, Boc, and Cbz. Various amine, including aromatic, methyl esters of amino acids, t-butylamine, alcohols, and thiols, are used as nucleophiles. A detailed NMR-based mechanism study is incorporated here. Racemization suppression, easy removal of by-products, and less waste generation make this methodology useful.

Copper salt plays multiple roles in the transformation, which allows the oxygenation of C-H bond, cleavage of inert C-C bond, and formation of C-O bond in one pot without the assistance of any of the acids, bases, ligands, and so on. The reaction provides a simple, direct, and efficient protocol towards functionalized esters, especially aryl benzoates, from readily available starting materials.

For the first time, two new oxovanadium and dioxomolybdenum Schiff base complexes, VOL(OMe) and MoO2L, were synthesized through the reaction of a ONO tridentate Schiff base ligand (H2L) derived from the condensation of 5-bromosalicylaldehyde and nicotinic hydrazide with oxo and dioxo acetylacetonate salts of vanadium and molybdenum, [VO(acac)(2) and MoO2(acac)2], respectively. The synthesized ligand and complexes were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques like FT-IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, elemental analysis (CHN) and the most authentic single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis (SC-XRD). The geometry around the central metal ion in MoO2L was distorted octahedral as revealed by the data collected from diffraction studies. Non-covalent interactions that are responsible for crystal packing are explored by Hirshfeld surface analysis. Theoretical calculations of the synthesized compounds, carried out by DFT at B3LYP/Def2-TZVP level of theory, indicated that the calculated results are in agreement with the experimental findings. Moreover, the catalytic activities of both complexes were investigated for the selective oxidation of benzylic alcohols using urea hydrogen peroxide (UHP) in acetonitrile. (C) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. A green method for the oxidation of alcohols to carboxylic acids was developed using a novel co-catalytic system based on gold, silver, and copper catalysts. This reaction system was conducted under atmospheric oxygen in water and mild conditions to selectively oxidize 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid, as a building block for polyethylene furanoate, which is a 100% bio-based, future alternative to the petroleum-based polyethylene terephthalate. BACKGROUND Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are prepared by mixing solid organic precursors to form a liquid driven from strong hydrogen-bond interactions. The physical and chemical properties of these compounds have been widely investigated, and it has been shown that they are benign media for biotransformations, organicsynthesis, biodieselpreparation, and a sustainable media for nanoscale and functional materials. RESULTS This study is the first report on the synthesis of n-TiO2-P25@TDI@DES (urea: ZnCl2) with photo catalytic activity. This nano photocatalyst was obtained through covalent grafting of TiO2-P25 nanoparticles to an inexpensive and highly reactive linker (2,4-toluene diisocyanate). The presented nano photocatalyst has been employed as a covalently grafted Lewis acidic deep eutectic solvent to oxidize various primary benzyl alcohols to their corresponding carbonyl compounds by sodium nitrate as oxidant, under visible light exposure. CONCLUSION This highly efficient nanocatalyst was investigated by various characterization techniques including fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM with EDX), and elemental analysis. Owing to its enhanced catalytic activity, thermal stability, and environmentally friendly nature, the present method can be regarded as an attractive green chemistry approach. In this study, a green deep eutectic solvent (DES) was synthesized at room temperature-based choline chloride (ChCl) and 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (Anisyl alcohol (An-OH)) used as the conductive binder for modification of carbon paste electrode (CPE). In addition, single wall carbon nanotubes decorated by ZrO2 (SWCNT-ZrO2) nanocomposite was synthesized by the hydrothermal method and characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDAX), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analytical techniques. The DES and SWCNT-ZrO2 were used as a binder and modifier in the carbon paste electrode structure to form CPE/DES/SWCNT-ZrO2 as an electrochemical sensor for the simultaneous determination of paracetamol and rizatriptan as two anti-migration drugs for the first time. In the direction of optimal experimental conditions, the effective parameters such as pH, amount of modifier, and electrolyte type were optimized. Under these conditions, the limits of detection (LODs) 0.7 nM and 9.0 nM; linear dynamic ranges (LDRs) 0.003?100 and 0.08?100; and relative standard deviations (RSDs for n = 5) 1.63 and 1.52 were sequentially found for rizatriptan and paracetamol. The results indicate that the sensor can be applied for the detection of trace amounts of paracetamol and rizatriptan in clinical and pharmaceutical samples.
