Zhou, Lianyu; Jiao, Lu; Ju, Jiasheng; Ma, Xuelan published the artcile< Effect of Sodium Selenite on the Metabolite Profile of Epichloe sp. Mycelia from Festuca sinensis in Solid Culture>, Formula: C6H10O8, the main research area is Epichloe Festuca sinensis sodium selenite metabolite mycelia solid culture; Culture time; Epichloë sp. from Festuca sinensis; Metabolite analysis; Selenium.

Selenium (Se) is an essential micronutrient with many beneficial effects for humans and other living organisms. Numerous microorganisms in culture systems enrich and convert inorganic selenium to organic selenium. In this study, Epichloe sp. from Festuca sinensis was exposed to increasing Na2SeO3 concentrations (0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4 mmol/L) in Petri dishes with potato dextrose agar (PDA) for 8 wk. Epichloe sp. mycelia were immediately collected after mycelial diameters were measured at 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 wk of cultivation, resp. Gas chromatog.-mass spectrometer (GC-MS) anal. was performed on different groups of Epichloe sp. mycelia. Different changes were observed as Epichloe sp. was exposed to different selenite conditions and cultivation time. The colony diameter of Epichloe sp. decreased in response to increased selenite concentrations, whereas the inhibitory effects diminished over time. Seventy-two of the 203 identified metabolites did not differ significantly across selenite treatments within the same time point, while 82 compounds did not differ significantly between multiple time points of the same Se concentration However, the relative levels of 122 metabolites increased the most under selenite conditions. Specifically, between the 4th and 8th weeks, there were increases in 2-keto-isovaleric acid, uridine, and maltose in selenite treatments compared to controls. Selenium increased glutathione levels and exhibited antioxidant properties in weeks 4, 5, and 7. Addnl., we observed that different doses of selenite could promote the production of carbohydrates such as isomaltose, cellobiose, and sucrose; fatty acids such as palmitoleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid; and amino acids such as lysine and tyrosine in Epichloe sp. mycelia. Therefore, Epichloe sp. exposed to selenite stress may benefit from increased levels of some metabolite compounds

Applied Surface Science published new progress about Antibacterial agents. 627-27-0 belongs to class alcohols-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C4H8O, Safety of But-3-en-1-ol.

Chen, Yong; Chen, Qi; Wang, Yuyu; Zhang, Qiang; Han, Qiuxia published the artcile< Fluorocarbon-assisted surface orientation of N-halamine groups on cellulose in supercritical CO2: An effective and eco-friendly approach for developing higher biocidability>, Safety of But-3-en-1-ol, the main research area is surface orientation halamine polysiloxane cellulose supercritical carbon dioxide; biocidal halamine polysiloxane coating cotton textile antibacterial.

Preferential segregation of N-halamine structure to top surface to better contact with bacteria is demonstrated to be an effective tactic for achievement of higher biocidability. 5-Allylbarbituric acid and its fluorinated derivative, formed by sacrificing a imide hydrogen to tether a 4-perfluorohexylbutyl segment via nucleophilic substitution, were synthesized and sep. attached to (50% methylhydrosiloxane)-dimethylsiloxane block copolymer (P(MHS-DMS)) via hydrosilylation. Chlorination of N-H bonds originating from barbituric acid produced two N-halamine polysiloxanes that were interpenetrated into cellulose to form coatings with similar morphol. and thickness. Although containing ∼50% less total content of chlorine than its nonfluorinated counterpart, polysiloxane with fluorinated pendants exerted faster inactivation against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli due to the orientation of its N-halamine groups on top surface with the assistance of the low-surface-tension 4-perfluorohexylbutyl segment as verified by depth profiling using angle-dependent XPS (ADXPS). Design biocide with proper surface segregation ability therefore paves a new way for improved antibacterial efficacy. The stability and rechargeability of the biocidability of the coatings are satisfactory under washing cycles, UV irrigation, and storage.

Chemical Engineering Journal (Amsterdam, Netherlands) published new progress about Apparatus (functional). 627-27-0 belongs to class alcohols-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C4H8O, SDS of cas: 627-27-0.

Shen, Wenbo; Du, Bin; Zhuo, Haitao; Chen, Shaojun published the artcile< Recyclable and reprocessable epoxy-polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS)/mesogenic azobenzene/poly (ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) composites with thermal- and light-responsive programmable shape-memory performance>, SDS of cas: 627-27-0, the main research area is recyclable reprocessable epoxy polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane.

In this study, an Epoxy/POSS-liquid crystalline azobenzene-Poly (ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (Epoxy/POSS-Azo-EVA) composite was prepared via the thermal curing of epoxy monomers and multi-functional thiol-containing Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) in an EVA matrix. The EVA matrix afforded the composite with shape memory performance. Epoxy/POSS polymer was uniformly dispersed in the matrix to act as a rigid skeleton, leading to the improvement of the mech. properties and shape memory performance of the composite. Liquid crystalline azobenzene as the photosensitive component provided the inner stress to render the composite film with photo-induced shape-deformation behavior under UV light. The composite film not only exhibited thermal- and light-responsive programmable shape-memory behavior stimulated by heat and light, but also was recyclable and reprocessable. Moreover, the recycled composite film was processed into different functional devices. A flexible photomech. device based on the recycled Epoxy/POSS-Azo-EVA composite film was fabricated, and the soft device deformed into a hook-shape under UV light and hooked an object whose weight is larger than that of the device. A smart wire was also prepared via assembling a stretched recycled Epoxy/POSS-Azo-EVA composite film and a copper foil by adhesive. The wire could control the status of a circuit via changing its shape under UV light and maintain the status after the removal of light. The functional devices described in this work only needed a short time of UV irradiation during a work cycle, and the devices still held the temporary shape in the absence of UV irradiation The recyclable and reprocessable Epoxy/POSS-Azo-EVA composite film in this work could provide a creative approach for the fabrication of novel photomech. devices and soft robotics with energy-saving, intelligence, recyclability, and sustainability.

Target identification of bioactive compounds is important for understanding their mechanisms of action and provides critical insights into their therapeutic utility. While it remains a challenge, unbiased chemoproteomics strategy using clickable photoaffinity probes is a useful and validated approach for target identification. One major limitation of this approach is the efficient synthesis of appropriately substituted clickable photoaffinity probes. Herein, we describe an efficient and consistent method to prepare such probes. We further employed this method to prepare a highly stereo-congested probe based on naturally occurring triterpenoid betulinic acid. With this photoaffinity probe, we identified tropomyosin as a novel target for betulinic acid that can account for the unique biol. phenotype on cellular cytoskeleton induced by betulinic acid.

Industrial Crops and Products published new progress about Biodiesel fuel. 104-76-7 belongs to class alcohols-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C8H18O, Category: alcohols-buliding-blocks.

Chen, Jing; Bian, Xiaoqiang; Rapp, Graeme; Lang, James; Montoya, Alejandro; Trethowan, Richard; Bouyssiere, Brice; Portha, Jean-Francois; Jaubert, Jean-Noel; Pratt, Peter; Coniglio, Lucie published the artcile< From ethyl biodiesel to biolubricants: Options for an Indian mustard integrated biorefinery toward a green and circular economy>, Category: alcohols-buliding-blocks, the main research area is Brassica ethyl biodiesel biolubricant biorefinery.

This work aims to analyze whether Indian mustard can be harnessed within a biorefinery system to generate energy carriers and high value-added products. Within this objective, two options of harnessing Indian mustard seed oil (IMSO) were investigated, the first for the production of Et biodiesel (IMSOEEs) and the second for the production of a biolubricant (IMSO2E1HEs) by transesterification of the unpurified IMSOEEs with 2-ethyl-1-hexanol (2E1H). Furthermore, low cost and environmentally-friendly conversion processes were targeted. The biofuel was obtained under mild conditions of ethanolysis (35°C, atm. pressure, ethanol to oil molar ratio of 8, 1.1 wt% KOH, and 50 min) carried out in two-stages separated by addition of recycled glycerol, and followed by dry-purification with Indian mustard stems-based adsorbent. In order to enhance biolubricant yield, reactive distillation with optimized operating pressure was selected (0.05 bar, 70°C, 2 wt% KOH, 2E1H to IMSOEEs molar ratio of 2, 65 min), followed by bubble-washing (assisted with citric acid) and then vacuum distillation (inferior to 0.01 bar). The produced IMSOEEs met the basic biodiesel properties with a satisfactory ester content (95.8 wt%). Similarly, a high conversion of IMOEEs (93 wt%) was reached for the biolubricant, leading to an IMSO2E1HE product that exhibited satisfactory properties, and thus has the potential to act as a biolubricant. Nevertheless, these results could be improved with a pre-treatment of the departure IMSO to remove species that are not glycerides, such as glucosinolates. Thereby, ensuring that the produced Et biodiesel conforms strictly to industry specifications.

The iridium-catalyzed C-H borylation is a valuable and attractive method for the preparation of aryl and heteroaryl boronates. However, application of this methodol. for the preparation of pyridyl and related azinyl boronates can be challenged by low reactivity and propensity for rapid protodeborylation, particularly for a boronate ester ortho to the azinyl nitrogen. Competition experiments have revealed that the low reactivity is due to inhibition of the active catalyst through coordination of the azinyl nitrogen lone pair at the vacant site on the iridium. This effect can be overcome through the incorporation of a substituent at C-2. Moreover, when this is sufficiently electron-withdrawing protodeborylation is sufficiently slowed to permit isolation and purification of the C-6 boronate ester. Following functionalization, reduction of the directing C-2 substituent provides the product arising from formal ortho borylation of an unhindered pyridine ring.

Although Nordic wild edible mushrooms offer a wide range of different odors their scientific examination has been scarce. The aim of this study was to characterize the aroma compounds of four Finnish wild mushroom species with trained assessors using gas chromatog.-olfactometry as well as gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry. Headspace volatiles were extracted from sous vide cooked mushroom samples (Boletus edulis, Lactarius camphoratus, Cantharellus cibarius and Craterellus tubaeformis) using solid-phase microextraction Odor-contributing compounds were measured with two columns of differing polarity using the detection frequency method. Compounds were identified based on reference compounds, linear retention indexes, odor descriptions, and mass spectrometry. Both the volatile compound profiles and the aromagrams were distinct with characteristic compounds for each species. The results demonstrate that especially saturated and unsaturated aldehydes and ketones contribute to the odor of the studied wild mushrooms. This thorough comparison also indicates compounds linked to the sensory properties of mushrooms.
